Shelbi Holloman Named ODAC Field Hockey Player of the Week
FOREST - Roanoke College freshman, Shelbi Holloman has been named ODAC Player of the Week, announced Monday. Holloman is the first Roanoke field hockey player to be named ODAC Player of the Week to earn the honor since Lindsay Paz on September 13th, 2004.

Holloman, a freshman from Suffolk, Va., helped the Maroons win their ODAC opener, although it took extra time to do it. Both squads played to a scoreless draw thru 70 minutes of action, but Holloman secured the victory for RC by turning the ninth penalty corner taken by the Maroons into a game-winner in the 72nd minute. The goal marked Holloman's second of the season, one which handed VWC its first conference loss in three games.

The Maroons return to action on Wednesday, October 2nd as they travel to Harrisonburg to face off against Eastern Mennonite University. That game is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start.
