FIELD HOCKEY - 1:00 PM
The field hockey team is currently 5-5, 1-2 ODAC. The Maroons recently defeated Sweet Briar College, 8-1 on Wednesday evening, getting the Maroons back to .500 win percentage on the season. The next win for the Maroons this season will tie Roanoke's best win total since the 2004 season, matching the six wins from the 2011 season.
The Maroons are led by Shelbi Holloman, who has tallied 10 goals so far this season. Her goal total currently ranks her as the leading scorer in the ODAC. She also sits in the top-10 in the conference in points, game winning goals, and shots. Also charging the team offensively is Kelsey Palmisano, who has scored three goals this season, which ranks seventh in the ODAC. Katerina DeSimone, who transitioned to field hockey from lacrosse, leads the team in assists with four. Her four assists rank third in the ODAC. Both DeSimone and Holloman have earned ODAC Player of the Week awards for their play thus far in 2014.
The Maroons are taking on a Marlin squad who is 2-7, 0-1 ODAC. The Marlins have lost their last four games, including their ODAC opener to Shenandoah, 1-0. Virginia Wesleyan has defeated Frostburg State and Ferrum, a team that the Maroons were victorious over earlier this season. The Marlins are led in scoring by Taylor Lober, who has scored seven goals, followed by Nikki Cuthbert with six goals. Both Lober and Cuthber also lead the team in assists with five and four, respectively.
MEN'S SOCCER - 3:00 PM
The Roanoke College men's soccer team currently has a record of 7-2-1, with a 4-0 mark in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. The Maroons have matched their conference start from the 2013 season, where they started 4-0, and eventually went 5-0-1 in ODAC play. Currently Roanoke sits at the top of the ODAC standings, serving as the only unbeaten team in the conference.
Roanoke's Marc Dinkel leads the squad in points (20), goals (7) and assists (6). However, Dinkel not only leads the team, his also the ODAC statistical leader in those three categories as well. Tyler Carbaugh ranks second on the team in goals scored with three, while also ranking second on the squad with four assists. Robby Lentine, Garrett Eldridge and Sam Rauf have each tallied two goals apiece so far in 2014. Roanoke's goalkeeper, Cole Sinclair, ranks third in the ODAC in saves with 36, while boasting the fourth best goals-against average in the conference with a mark of 1.03.
The Marlins are 5-3-1 overall and have a conference record of 2-1. Virginia Wesleyan has won four of its last five games, most recently falling to Guilford, 2-1 on the road. However, during that span, The Marlins defeated Eastern Mennonite, Wesley, Washington and Lee, and N.C. Wesleyan. Isaac Arrington leads the team in both goals and assists, tallying four from each category. Robert Holschuh, Josh Kemp and Tanner Martin are tied for second in goals scored with two apiece.

WOMEN'S SOCCER - 6:00 PM
The women's soccer team currently has a record of 7-4 with a 3-2 mark in ODAC play. The Maroons are currently on a three game win streak, having defeated Emory & Henry (2-1), Randolph-Macon (4-1) and Eastern Mennonite University. Roanoke is tied for third in the ODAC with their 3-2 conference record, along with Shenandoah University.
Ashley Barnes leads the Maroons in goals scored, netting six goals so far this season. Her tally ranks her fourth in the ODAC in goals scored. She also ranks seventh in the league in points with 13, having six goals and one assist. Marlana Barnard sits one goal behind Barnes this season, where she ranks 10th in the ODAC. She is sixth in the conference in both shots (35) and game winning goals (2). Adelyn Fitzgerald has the third most goals on the team, netting three so far this season. Taylor Sayegh leads the Maroons in assists, dishing out three assists in 2014.
Virginia Wesleyan is 6-4-2 on the year, with a 4-1 mark in ODAC play. The Marlins have won three of their last four games, having defeated Hollins (9-0), Shenandoah (1-0) and Sweet Briar (6-0). All of Virginia Wesleyan's wins and losses have come via shutout, while the team's draws have come by way of 1-1 decisions. Katie Roberts leads the team in goals with six, tying Roanoke's Barnes. She is followed by Annie Hartman and Lauren Shular, who each have four goals to their credit this season. Virginia Wesleyan's 12 assists this season are spread fairly evenly amongst nine players. The Marlins' goalkeeper, Megan Gerhart has an 0.71 goals against average as well.
