Roanoke Field Hockey Places Four on All-ODAC Teams

FOREST, Va. -- Fresh off its most successful season since 2004, the Roanoke College Field Hockey team placed four student-athletes on the ODAC All-Conference teams announced by the league on Tuesday.

Shelbi HollomanKellie Jasinski and Heather Schauder were named First-Team All-ODAC, while Kaylin Stenson earned third-team honors.

Holloman earned first-team accolades for the second straight season and her third all-conference honor of her career. Holloman finished the season tied for second in the league with 15 goals and tied for fourth with seven assists. Holloman's 37 points was third-best in the league while she took an ODAC best 116 shots on the year.

Schauder made an immediate impact during her first season in Salem. The goalkeeper posted a 1.38 goals-against average which was second best in the ODAC. Her 102 saves on the season was fifth most in the league and she surrendered just 21 goals in 16 games.

Jasinski anchored an RC defense that allowed just 1.27 goals per game this season which ranked second in the ODAC. Jasinski also notched a pair of goals on the season and made two defensive saves for the Maroons.

Stenson joined her fellow freshman Schauder in making immediate contributions to the Maroons. Stenson started 16 games along the backline for Roanoke, helping the Maroons to be one of the best defensive units in the ODAC. Stenson also scored one goal and added three assists for five points on the offensive end of the field.

Roanoke recorded 11 wins this season which is the first double-digit win total for RC since 2004. The 11 wins is also tied for fourth most in a single season history.
