The Lead: Victoria Cappadora's goal just under five minute into overtime propelled Randolph-Macon to a 2-1 win over Roanoke Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened:
  • Roanoke got on the board first 10 minutes into the game when Katerina DeSimone collected a shot that was blocked and beat R-MC keeper Kelsey Stanley to make it 1-0. It is DeSimone's fourth goal of the season.
  • R-MC tied the game at the 22:10 mark when Mackenzie Turner set up Kaitee Nicholas for a goal off a penalty corner attempt.
  • The second-half would prove to be scoreless with RC outshooting R-MC 15-10.
  • In the overtime, RC was called for a foul and Cappadora scored off the restart to give R-MC the win.
  • For the game, the Maroons outshot the Yellow Jackets 27-17 and held an 11-6 edge in penalty corners.
  • Heather Schauder made nine stops in the cage for RC, including seven in the second-half and overtime combined.
