The Lead: Six different Maroons scored as the Roanoke Field Hockey team knocked off Sweet Briar 9-0 on the road Friday afternoon.
How it Happened:
- Arielle Allam got RC on the scoreboard just 1:35 into the match when she scored her first career goal to put RC up 1-0.
- Shelbi Holloman got the first of her three goals on the day at the 5:09 mark, while Stacey Staley struck 52 seconds later with an unassisted goal to make it 3-0.
- Holloman would add two more goals during the first half and Kellie Jasinski and Fiona Dougan each scored to send RC to the intermission up 7-0.
- Paige Warner and Dougan each scored in the second-half for RC, which outshot SBC 30-0 on the day.
- The nine goals is the most in a game for Roanoke since 2004 when it scored nine times against Hollins and Randolph.
Roanoke will be back in action on Tuesday when it travels to Eastern Mennonite for a 7:00 p.m. ODAC match.
