Holloman Earns Second ODAC Player of the Week Award

Forest, Va. – For the second time this season, Roanoke's Shelbi Holloman has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Field Hockey Player of the Week.

Holloman, a senior from Suffolk, Va., became just the second Maroon to break the 100 career point plateau last week as she led Roanoke to a 2-1 showing. Holloman opened the week with a goal in a 5-0 win at Hood. She then helped the Maroons rebound from a 2-0 setback at Centre with a 7-1 victory at Transylvania. She scored four times and dished out an assist in that contest, becoming the first Roanoke player since 2003 to score four goals in a game. Holloman now has 102 points in her career, just 20 shy of the school record. For the season, Holloman leads the ODAC in points (25), goals scored (10), and assists (5).

Roanoke is back in action on Saturday when it hosts Eastern Mennonite at 2:30 p.m. in Salem.
