Salem, Va. – Roanoke College junior Emilee Wooten has been named Second-Team All-South Region by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA).

The all-region accolade follows a First-Team All-ODAC selection for Wooten in November. The junior from Laytonsville, Md., finished the season tops on the Roanoke team in goals (18), assists (13), shots (104) and shots on goal (60). Her 49 points were second most in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC), while here goals ranked tied for third and her assists tied for second most in the league.

For her career she now has 119 points which is the second-most in the RC record books. Wooten trails just Karen Spicer who recorded 122 points on 52 goals and 18 assists from 1987-1990 and Shelbi Holloman who holds the program record after posting 128 points (56g, 16a) from 2013-16 for the all-time lead.

This is the second consecutive season Wooten has been named Second-Team All-South Region and the second straight year she earned First-Team All-ODAC honors. She was also named Second-Team All-ODAC as a freshman.

Wooten and the Maroons capped this season with 12 victories, giving Roanoke its fifth consecutive winning season and ties for the fourth highest win total in program history.
