Four Maroons Named All Conference

Four Maroons earn All Conference honors

When the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced their All Conference awards, Roanoke would place four players on one of the three teams.

Seniors Lauren Heffron and Emilee Wooten earned first team honors of the second consecutive season. Defender Alexis Wright was named to the second team and junior Martha Hurley was named third team all conference after making the second team in 2019.

Heffron, a senior midfielder, scored three goals with two assists for eight points during the nine game schedule. In a 2-1 win at Shenandoah on April 2nd, the win that solidified the three seed going into the conference tournament, Heffron recorded the game winning goal.

Wooten, a senior midfielder/attack, finsihed the season ranked fourth in the ODAC in points with 19, six goals and seven assists. Wooten currently sits atop the Roanoke record book with 138 points and 32 assists. Her 53 goals is second all time behind Shelbi Holoman's 56 goals.

Wright, a sophomore defender, helped anchor a Roanoke defense that allowed just 12 goals during the season, tied for second best in the ODAC. At 1.32 goals against per game, the roanoke college defense ranked third in the conference. For their efforts in their semifinal run through the ODAC Tournament, Wright and Wooten were named to the All Tournament team.

Hurley, a junior attacker, recorded two goals, four points for the season. In the 1-0 ODAC quarterfinal win over Randolph-Macon, Hurley scored the game winner to send the Maroons into the semifinal round against #2 Washington and Lee. Hurley was named to the All ODAC 2nd team in 2019.
