HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Both teams' defense was on display early on with the Maroons not finding the back of the cage until 11:40 when Hope Keller took a rebounded shot and fired a goal past the goalie for the 1-0 lead.
  • A combined two shots, that's all that was taken in the second quarter as neither team could add a goal on the scoreboard before the end of the first half, with the Maroons leading 1-0.
  • Less than four minutes into the third quarter, Saige Bullock fired and snuck in what became the game-winner at 33:39 to put the Maroons ahead 2-0.
  • Bullock got back-to-back goals with another unassisted goal at 40:33 to put Roanoke ahead 3-0.
  • The Yellow Jackets finally got on the scoreboard at 51:28 off a misplay by the Maroons but they could not find score again as Roanoke held on for the 3-1 win.

BY THE NUMBERS

  • Bullock scored both her goals on two shots in just 15 of play.
  • Madison Wingerter improved to 11-3 on the season with the victory, playing all 60 minutes in the box.
  • The 11 wins match the win total from the 2021 season with three more regular season games and the upcoming 2022 ODAC Tournament.
