Logan Singleton Scores 1,000th Point in Loss to Emory & Henry
EMORY, Va. --- Roanoke fell to Emory & Henry, 88-81 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men's Basketball action Wednesday evening. The Wasps improve to 10-12 overall, 4-9 in the ODAC, while the Maroons slip to 6-16, 2-11 in conference play.

Senior center Logan Singleton became the 33rd player in the 99-year history of the Roanoke Men's Basketball program to score 1,000 career points, scoring all 10 points in the first half. He also pulled down 10 rebounds, nine in the second half, to earn his fourth double-double of the season.

Emory & Henry shot 50.9% (29-57) from the floor, including 6-of-15 from beyond the arc. Roanoke shot 30-of-70 (42.9%) on the night, but hit 15-of-21 (71.4%) from the line. The Wasps out-rebounded the Maroons, 41-35 while RC held slim advantages in points off turnovers (29-26), points in the paint (42-34), second chance points (12-7) and bench scoring (32-29).

Emory & Henry raced out the gate to a commanding 30-point lead, 39-9 in just over 12-minutes into the game. But the Maroons cut the lead in half as they went on a 23-9 run over the final eight minutes to make it, 48-32 heading into the locker room.

After the Wasps stretched their lead to 20 after a Malcolm Green layup just under three minutes into second half play, the Maroons responded with an 18-8 run to make it, 62-52 with 10:23 left.
In a game of runs, E&H countered with a 13-4 run led by the Wasps hitting 7-of-8 from the line during a span of five minutes to make it 75-56 with 5:59 remaining.

But the Maroons wouldn't quit, making a final push with a 19-7 run led by Kwasi Amponsah who scored eight points during that spurt. Adam Kessler hit a three-pointer and two free-throws to start the surge and capped by Ethan Humphries back-to-back layups to cut it to within seven with 2:10 to go. From that point on, the Wasps held off the late rally to secure their 10th win and fourth ODAC victory.

Amponsah, the ODAC's leading scorer, paced the Maroons with 23 points, 16 in the second half before he fouled out of the game. He also had three steals to move into 11th on the all-time list with 123, and hit 6-of-6 from the line.

Clay Lacy tied a career-high with 14 points off the bench, hitting 5-of-7 from the floor in 19 minutes. Stefan Vulevic provided 11 points, hitting 5-of-7 on the night with three assists. Kessler tossed in eight points (2-of-2 from three-point range) with two steals while Julian Ramirez contributed five points, three rebounds two assists and a team-best four steals.
Malcolm Green led all scorers with 31 points, hitting 10-of-12 overall and 9-of-11 at the charity stripe. Kyle Sensabaugh hit 4-of-6 from three-point range for 14 points (12 in the first half) with eight rebounds.

The men will travel north to Ashland to take on Randolph-Macon in ODAC action on Saturday, Feb. 11. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Crenshaw Gym.
