The Lead: Bridgewater scored a 74-55 win over Roanoke in ODAC Men's Basketball action Tuesday night in the league opener for both teams.

How it Happened:

  • Josh Freund led RC with 19 points and C.J. Miles added 11 points and John Caldwell had nine in the loss. The Maroons shot 36.5% for the game, making 16-of-45 shots on the night. The Maroons had 17 turnovers on the night that resulted in 24 BC points on the other end of the floor.
  • Bridgewater knocked down 11-of-25 three-point attempts led by Jesse Case who made five on his way to game-high 21 points in the win. Bryce Boggs added 19 points for BC, while Kevin Saylor had 10.
  • Roanoke found itself down 25-14 in the first-half before a 7-1 run capped by a Joe Mikalauskas bucket pulled RC within five with 4:17 to go in the half.
  • BC responded by scoring nine of the final 11 points of the half to take a 35-23 lead into the intermission.
  • The Maroons attempted to battle back in the second stanza, but Case (14 pts.) and Boggs (12 pts.) combined to score 26 points in the second-half to help BC maintain a double-digit lead and secure the victory.

Up Next: Roanoke will be off until Saturday when it travels to North Carolina Wesleyan for a 2:00 p.m. game. NCWC is 1-2 on the season after an 88-81 loss to Mary Washington on Tuesday.
