Mikalauskas Named ODAC Hoops Player of the Week

Salem, Va. – Roanoke College's Joe Mikalauskas has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

Mikalauskas, a junior from Troutville, Va., picks up the final men's basketball weekly award of the season after helping Roanoke to a pair of league wins to wrap up the sixth seed in the upcoming ODAC Tournament. Mikalauskas averaged 17.5 points and 7.0 rebounds over the two contests. He opened with 14 points and eight boards with three steals in a 72-59 triumph at Ferrum. He was 5-of-9 from the field including 2-of-4 from deep and drilled both his foul shots. Mikalauskas capped the regular season with 21 points and six rebounds to go with three assists in an 81-64 triumph over Bridgewater. He again was 2-of-4 from three-point territory as part of a 6-of-14 day from the field. He was 7-of-7 from the stripe. For the season, Mikalauskas is averaging 9.6 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. He is second in the ODAC in three-point shooting (39-of-83; .470).

Roanoke is the No. 6 seed in this week's ODAC Tournament and will open up quarterfinal play on Thursday against No. 3 seed Lynchburg at 8:00 p.m. at the Salem Civic Center.
