Josh Freund Named First-Team All-ODAC

Salem, Va. – Roanoke College's Josh Freund has been First-Team All-ODAC as the league announced its 2019 men's basketball awards on Wednesday.

This is the second consecutive first-team selection for Freund who was named First-Team All-ODAC and the ODAC Player of the Year in 2018. This season, Freund currently leads the league in points per game (18.5) and is second in field goal percentage (61.4), field goals made (181), free-throws made (99), total points (443) and rebounds per game (10.4).

Freund has scored in double-figures in all 25 of Roanoke's games this season and has registered 13 double-doubles, including five double-doubles in RC's last eight games. Freund was also named ODAC Player of the Week on Jan. 14.

For his career, Freund has 1,385 points to go along with 815 rebounds. Freund is the first Maroon since Robby Pridgen (2003 & 2004) to earn First-Team All-ODAC accolades in back-to-back years. 

Freund and the Maroons are seeded sixth in this weekend's ODAC Tournament and will face No. 3 seed Lynchburg at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Salem Civic Center.
