The Lead: Four players scored in double-figures as Roanoke ran its win streak to seven games with an 80-67 victory over Ferrum on Wednesday.
How it Happened
- Ferrum led a tightly contested first-half 21-18 with 11 minutes to go before RC went on a 12-2 run that was capped by an Ethan Rohan free-throw that made the score 30-23 with 3:37 to play.
- The Maroons extended their lead to nine points following a Rohan put back of a Tripp Greene shot that put RC up 34-25 with under two minutes to go.
- A Caleb Jordan bucket in the final five seconds of the half sent Roanoke to the locker room leading 38-31.
- Three-point baskets by Kasey Draper and Dillon Thomas in the first minute of the second-half pushed the RC advantage to 44-31.
- A Greene three-pointer at the 11:35 mark gave RC an 18-point lead at 56-38.
- With the score 65-55, Ferrum would score seven straight points, cutting the RC lead to 65-62 after a pair of free-throws from Caleb McReed with 4:31 left on the clock.
- RC scored the next 12 points with a Draper free-throw making it 77-62 with 1:20 to play in the game.
- Jordan led RC with 16 points. Greene and Joe Mikalauskas each had 14 points, while Draper chipped in with 11. Rohan had nine rebounds to help RC to a 33-32 edge on the glass.
- Roanoke made 25-of-53 (47.2%) shots from the floor, including 12 three-pointers.
- McReed and Rashad Reed each had 16 points for Ferrum. Carrington Young grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds for the Panthers.
