Meet: 2017 Liberty University Kickoff
Location: Liberty Indoor Track Complex | Lynchburg, Va.

The Lead: Mara Briggs tied her own school record in the high jump as she and the Maroons returned to action at the 2017 Liberty University Kickoff this weekend. 

Highlights:

• Briggs tied for second place overall in the Division I heavy field with a jump of 1.65 m which ties her own school record and ranks her 10^th overall currently in Division III.
• Claire Brooks notched a ninth-place finish in the one mile run with a time of 5:20, while Abigail Supplee posted a time of 5:48 in a field that featured 55 runners.  
• Kerri Dalton (10:53) and Caity Ashley (11:03) finished seventh and 11^th, respectively in the 3000 meter run and Ellen Bauer was 11^th overall in the 5000 meter run with a time of 19:48.
• On the men's side, Cameron Thompson ran a 7.11 in the 60 meter dash preliminary round which was good for 26^th among 114 entrants and then was 41^st among 124 runners in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.85.
• John Wiggins (16:27) and Howard Daniels (16:30) finished 14^th and 15^th, respectively in the 5000 meter run.
• Kaleb Bland's 12.28m in the shot put was good for 20^th among the 51 throwers, while David Flowers (11.79m) was 18^th in the weight throw.

Up Next: Roanoke will return to Liberty next weekend for the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational starting on Friday.
