This Saturday, 10 colleges will compete on the indoor track, but most will represent Division I and Division II institutions.  Radford University's squad will compete with a new Director of Track & Field/Cross Country.  Former Roanoke star Shelli Sayers (Class of 2000), has taken over the lead role after serving as Assistant Track Coach at Roanoke (2004-2010), Associate Head Coach at Northern Iowa (2011-2015), and Assistant Coach at Radford (2016-2019).  While a student at Roanoke, Sayers held school records in all three hurdle events, the heptathlon, and numerous relays.  While on the coaching staff, she worked with the majority of Roanoke athletes who earned All American honors and dominated the ODAC.

Interim Head Coach Eugene Galloway will have many of his top athletes wearing maroon in this highly competitive meet.  Two-time ODAC champion Jayna Jean-Jules will compete in the Weight Throw; Kyle Bland is among the best in the ODAC and will compete on the men's side in that event.  Alison Moreau will get into the blocks of the 200 meters and Eliza Ryan will be shooting for a personal best in the 400.  School record holder Corbin Turner has pole vaulted well and could contend for a place in the top 5.  Tied for the school record, Xavier O'Brien should contend for a strong place in the 60 meter hurdles.  The women's 4 X 400 relay team is entered in a competitive field; currently they hold the fastest time in the ODAC.

Running and Field events both start at 11 am this Saturday morning.
