Roanoke Takes Third and Seventh in Gettysburg Invite

The Lead: The women finished third behind a second-place individual finish by Kerri Dalton, while the men finished seventh at the Gettysburg Invitational Saturday afternoon. Both team finishes are the best for the Maroon programs in school history at Gettysburg. 

Women's Results

  • Kerri Dalton finished a top the leaderboards for the Maroons in second place with a time of 22:44.8. Dalton was just one second behind Virginia Wesleyan's Marissa Coombs who was the top collegiate finisher in second-place.
  • Claire Brooks recorded RC's second top-ten finish in seventh with a time of 23:22.3
  • Jennifer Barthol crossed the finish line in 15th with a time of 24:07.4.
  • Ellen Bauer (24:35.0) and Caity Ashley (24.44.1) finished just nine seconds apart, finishing 31st and 37th, respectively.
  • Abigail Supplee and Nora DeBoer rounded out the finishes for Roanoke as Supplee recorded a 25:12.1 and DeBoer a 25:33.0.
  • Roanoke tallied 92 points as a team, just 42 behind first place finisher Susquehanna.

Men's Results

  • Howard Daniels led the Maroons with a top-25 finish, clocking a 26:55.3.
  • John Wiggins finished 43rd with a time of 27:28.3, just seven seconds ahead of Colin Brennan (27:35.8) in 47th.
  • Tyler Barrett (27:41.7) and Alec Carlson (27:44.5) rounded out the scoring for the Maroons in 49th and 52nd, respectively.
  • Nathaniel Willis finished 70th with a time of 28:12.4 wand Kevin Waterman clocked a 28:17.9 for 72nd.
  • Roanoke totaled 216 points as a team while first place finisher Salisbury tallied 51.
