The Lead:
 Roanoke recorded 14 hits as the Maroons defeated the Vixens in game one of Sunday's doubleheader.

How it Happened:

  • Four different Maroons tallied multiple hits in the contest headed by Evie RaleyMarleigh Hall and Elizabeth Rathbone with three hits each. Rathbone recorded a game-high five RBI while Raley had four.
  • Paige Bleyer (2-0) earned the win in 3.0 innings of work allowing only two hits and striking out five. Kayla Dooms (0-3) was tabbed with the loss in 4.0 innings of work for the Vixens. Dooms also went 2-for-2 at the plate for the Vixens. 
  • Roanoke jumped out to 4-0 lead in the first sparked by a triple by Raley and a two RBI single from Rathbone.
  • The Maroons tacked on eight more runs in the second inning highlighted by a homer from Raley, a double from Hall and a triple from Taylor Carter
  • Rathbone hit a two RBI double in the third extending the lead to 14-0 before RC rounded out the scoring with three runs in the fourth off a double from Hall followed by a Sweet Briar error that brought in two more.

The Lead: Roanoke rolled to a 14-0 win in game two as the Maroons swept Sweet Briar on Sunday.

How it Happened:

  • Taylor Slate went 4-for-4 and Samantha Baldwin went 3-for-4 while four other Maroons recorded two hits in game two. 
  • Ruthie Williams (5-1) went 3.0 innings for Roanoke allowing no hits with four strike outs. Courtney Oliver went 2.0 innings allowing only one hit with four strikeouts. 
  • Taylor Fischer (0-9) was tabbed with the loss giving up 18 hits in 5.0 innings for the Vixens.
  • Roanoke scored three runs in the first as Slate and Scarlet Sisson hit back-to-back triples followed by a home run from Becca Wenger.
  • The Maroons added five more runs in the fifth highlighted by a RBI single from Slate and a triple from Rathbone.
  • In the third, Baldwin hit a double to center and Taylor Asimakopoulos singled up the middle for two more runs. RC extended its lead to 9-0 in the fourth with a homer from Slate and singles from Kate Priester, Rathbone and Baldwin.
