The Lead: The Maroons faced the No.10 Randolph Macon in their best of three series for the ODAC Championship. The Maroons dropped game one in their best of three championship series. Roanoke took the lead in the bottom of the first after Randolph Macon made an error that allowed for a run to score. The Yellow Jackets took the lead in the top of the third when they were able to bring in two runs. Roanoke tied the game in the bottom of the third but was unable to take the lead and eventually fell to Randolph Macon.
Highlights:
- Meri Bostic led off the bottom of the first with a single down the right field line and later stole second. Lauren Hoffman hit a line drive to the first basewoman which forced an error and allowed for a run to score.
- In the bottom of the third and runners on first and second Kate Houle singled up the middle to bring in another run.
Up next: Roanoke will take on Randolph Macon Friday May 12th in game two of their best of three series. The first pitch is scheduled for 1:00pm.
