July 23, 2021The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced their annual academic awards early this week. Roanoke College was one of the 285 schools, across all divisions, to be named Academic Honor Squads while three players earned a spot on the 2021 DIII Academic Honor Roll. -

July 08, 2021The Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) announced the 2021 Women's Lacrosse All State teams on Thursday afternoon. Roanoke midfielders Lilly Blair and Emerson Foster were honored by the organization. -
2020-21 Roanoke College Athletic Department Awards

The announcement of the four awards comes after an unprecedented season that would see all sports competing, in condensed schedules, over a three and a half month period due to the pandemic. -

Maroons Compete For ODAC Championship
May 02, 2021The 2021 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Women’s Lacrosse Championship was contested in Lexington on Sunday afternoon. Roanoke College the #2 seed took their #25 national ranking to Washington and Lee to face the #1 seeded Generals and their #2 national ranking for the ODAC title. Roanoke scored first but the lead was traded back and forth with W&L taking a 6-5 advantage into the break. Six unanswered scores to start the second half would see the Generals pull away for the Championship win, 17-9. -
Second Half Surge Sends Maroons To Championship
April 30, 2021With a berth in the 2021 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championship game on the line, Roanoke played host to Shenandoah on Friday evening. The Hornets would lead for much of the first half and a late score gave Shenandoah a 10-9 lead at the break. The Maroons would score a pair of quick goals to take their first lead of the game, but the Hornets would net the equalizer to make it 11-11. Eight unanswered Roanoke scores would allow the Maroons to pull away and punch their ticket to the finals with a 23-16 win. -
Regular Season Finale For Maroons
April 24, 2021For the final time this regular season, the Roanoke women’s lacrosse team was in action when they traveled to Salisbury for a non-conference matchup. Roanoke scored first but the home team would explode for 10, first half, goals to take control and go on to an 18-7 win over the Maroons. -
Roanoke Rolls On The Road
April 20, 2021The Roanoke College women's lacrosse team played their final Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) regular season game on Tuesday night when they traveled to Lynchburg to face Randolph College. The Maroons used a 38-5 shot advantage on their way to an easy win over the WildCats, securing the second seed in next week's 2021 ODAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament. -
Maroons Handle Yellow Jackets at Home
April 17, 2021The Roanoke College women's lacrosse team welcomed Randolph-Macon to Kerr Stadium on Saturday afternoon. the matchup with the Yellow Jackets came on the heels of a big road win at Lynchburg, in which Roanoke secured the number two spot in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (OADC) standings. RC scored the first three, and 11 of the first 13, goals on the afternoon on their way to another ODAC win, 20-8. -
Roanoke Defeats #25 Hornets
April 15, 2021After having the game postponed a day ago due to storms in the area, the Roanoke women’s lacrosse team made the trip east to face the University of Lynchburg on Thursday afternoon. The two Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) rivals came into the game in a virtual tie for second in the league with one loss apiece. The 25th ranked Hornets would take a 5-3 advantage, but three consecutive RC scores would give the Maroons the lead before a late goal by Lynchburg would send the game into the half in a 6-6 tie. Roanoke would score three times in the first half of the second stanza to take a lead that would hold up as the Maroons picked up the road, ODAC, win, 11-9. -
Late Surge Carries Maroons To Victory
April 10, 2021Roanoke traveled to Shenandoah looking to get back on track after falling to the #2 ranked Generals of W&L. The Maroons raced out to an 8-1 lead over the Hornets. However a later rally by Shenandoah would tie the score going into the final five minutes of play. Three unanswered RC scores would see the Maroons take the game 17-14. -
Roanoke Falls To 2nd Ranked Generals
April 07, 2021The Roanoke women's lacrosse team played host to Washington and Lee on Wednesday night. The Generals came into the matchup ranked 2nd in the most recent IWLCA Coaches Top 25 Poll. Washington and Lee would control much of the action in the first half and took a 12-1 lead into the break. The Maroons would score four, second half goals but it wasn't' enough as the Generals picked up the 17-5 victory. -
Roanoke Rolls In ODAC Opener
March 31, 2021The Roanoke College women played host to Bridgewater in their 2021 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) debut. Nine straight Maroon scores would leave no doubt as Roanoke cruised to the 18-6, ODAC win on Wednesday night. -
Close Game Goes To Avenging Angels
March 24, 2021The Roanoke College women's lacrosse team took their #24 national ranking on the road for a non-conference game with Meredith College on Wednesday evening. The Maroons held the lead at the half but the Avenging Angels would take a three-score lead into the final five minutes of play. The Maroons got two of the final three goals but couldn't complete the comeback, falling to Meredith 16-14. -
Women's Lacrosse Begins Road Swing With Win
March 09, 2021The Roanoke women’s lacrosse team traveled to Southern Virginia to open a three-game road swing. The Knights would score first but nine unanswered Roanoke scores would give the Maroons a lead that they would hold throughout as the cruised to the 20-8 win. -

March 08, 2021On Monday the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced their Players of the Week for week 8. Roanoke College midfielder Emerson Foster was named ODAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week. -

March 06, 2021The Roanoke women would open a men’s and women’s double header with Christopher Newport on Saturday afternoon. The Maroons would score first before the Captains tied it up. Then Roanoke would net four unanswered to take control. CNU made it 9-6 at the half but couldn’t close the gap as RC would never trail in picking up the 15-10 win. -
Season Opening Win For Maroons
February 27, 2021The Roanoke College women’s lacrosse team got the 2021 season started on Saturday afternoon with a visit from Virginia Wesleyan. The Maroons would score 13 unanswered goals to start the match as they defeated the Marlins in a non-conference matchup. -

November 17, 2020The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced their plan for the return to competition for the Spring of 2021. Tuesday afternoon the league office announced that conference play is slotted to begin January 23rd. -
Schwartz Named To Staff For Women's National Team
August 24, 2020Puerto Rico Lacrosse is excited to announce the addition of Mary Schwartz to the 2021 Women’s Senior National Team staff. Mary, a former four-year letter winner as a goalie at the University of Maryland, and currently serving as Roanoke College’s Women’s Lacrosse Head Coach, rounds out the coaching staff and will serve as the Women’s National Team goalie coach. -
