Women's Tennis Defeats Mary Baldwin

SALEM, Va. --- The Roanoke College women's tennis team defeated Mary Baldwin 9-0 on Thursday afternoon. The Maroons swept every doubles match for the third consecutive time this season. The women boast an undefeated mark of 3-0 and the Squirrels fell to 0-1.

Kelsey White and Kristen Nagy dominated in the number one doubles spot and won 8-1. Doubles partners Kelsey Burke and Erin Burnop as well as Haley Parker and Lucy Webb both defeated their opponents 8-0.
In singles competition, White and Burke defeated Brianna Aviles (6-1, 6-2) and Melissa Farara (6-0, 6-2) respectively. Danaia Grazynska fell to Parker in three sets, 2-6, 6-4, 11-9.
The number four, five, and six doubles were won by the Maroons also. Webb, Ruth Condro, and Brittany Matherly all contributed a point in Roanoke's 9-0 victory.
The Maroons are off for Spring Break next week and return to action on Mar. 16. They will travel to Lexington, Va. for their first ODAC match vs. Washington and Lee. Match time is set for 4:00 p.m.
