Women's Tennis defeats Southern Virginia, 6-3

SALEM, Va. --- The women's tennis team defeated Southern Virginia, 6-3 in Salem, Va. on Tuesday afternoon. The Maroons improved their record to 2-0 on the young season.

The women swept their doubles matches for the second match in a row and their 1, 4, 5 singles players won their individual matches as well.

Kelsey White defeated Bethany Johnson, 6-3, 6-0 in number one singles competition while number four Caroline Hunter won her match 6-4, 7-6. A solid win in the number five singles match was Julia Hausman (6-2, 6-0).
The women will travel to Mary Baldwin on Thursday for more non-conference action before taking some time off for spring break. Their first ODAC match will be at Washington & Lee on Mar. 16 at 4:00 p.m.
