LEXINGTON, Va. --- The Roanoke College women's tennis team dropped their first match of the season on Tuesday afternoon to #2 Washington and Lee, 9-0. Washington & Lee improved to 6-1 overall and 5-0 in the ODAC, while Roanoke slipped to 4-1, 0-1.
The Generals swept the Maroons in all six singles matches in addition to all three doubles matches.
Doubles teammates Kelsey Burke and Erin Burnop as well as Caroline Hunter and Lucy Webb both lost to their opponents 8-2.
In singles competition, Burke, Lucy Webb, and Julia Hausman all lost 8-2. Kelsey White fell to Jen Snyder in the number one spot, 8-1.
Roanoke will travel to Emory and Henry for their second ODAC match this season on Wednesday Mar. 18. Match time is set for 3:30 p.m.
