Women's Tennis Mirror Men Falling to W&L before defeating E&H
The Roanoke College Women's tennis team hosted Washington & Lee and Emory & Henry this past week. They were defeated by W&L but bounced back with a victory against E&H.
Roanoke failed to win a match against the Generals as they proved to be too strong for the Maroons at home on Monday afternoon. The Maroons best performance came from their #1 singles player Laura Dodson as she fell to Ann Morris 4-6, 0-6.
The women were back in action three days later as they played host to Emory and Henry, cruising to an 8-1 team victory. Roanoke swept the Wasps in doubles as Caroline Hunter and Tessa Bramhall secured the win in #3 doubles 8-4, which proved to be the closest doubles match of the afternoon. Roanoke's top five singles players all won their matches in decisive fashion only falling in a combined ten sets. With the victory the Maroons improved to 4-3 on the season.
The women will next travel to take on the Marlins of Virginia Wesleyan, Sunday March 21 at 10:00 am.
