STAUNTON, Va. -- The Women's Tennis earn first win of the season against Mary Baldwin 9-0. The Fighting Squirrels fall to 0-2 while the Maroons improve to 1-1.

In singles, Laura Dodson (Roanoke, VA, Cave Spring) defeated Erica Gaughan 6-1, 6-1. Corbin Leitch (Richmond, VA, Steward School) cruises past Gretchen Domaleski 6-0, 6-1 to receive her first win of the 2011 season. Sophomore Shana Hensley (Burnsville, NC, Mountain Heritage) beats Dalila Smith 6-1, 6-0 to earn her first win of the season. Casey Wojtera (Radford, VA, Radford) overpowers Victoria Ferguson 6-0, 6-1. Wojtera and partner Kristin Nagy (Torrance, CA, Torrance High School) get a win over Dalila Smith and Ferguson 8-0. This gives Wojtera her first collegiate win in both singles and doubles. Freshman Lauren Marszal (Meriden, CT, Francis T. Maloney) sweeps Megan Pitts 6-0, 6-0 in straight sets in her first collegiate match. Kim Naylor (Springboro, OH, Springboro High School) defeated Madeline Ogden 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles competition, Dodson and Leitch beat Gaughan and Domaleski 8-0. Freshman Katie Robinson (Virginia Beach, VA, First Colonial) and Lucy Webb (Glastonbury, CT, Glastonbury) cruise to a win over Christina Leyton and Megan Pitts 8-0. This gives Robison her first career victory in match play.

The Women's next game is on 3/1 against Averett from Salem, VA - Roanoke College Campus Courts and scheduled time is at 3:30 PM.
