On Friday, the Maroons got back on the winning track defeating Guilford on the road, 6-3. The win improves Roanoke 6-2, 1-1 in the ODAC, while the Quakers gall to 3-7, 1-3 against ODAC competition.

Laura Dodson (Roanoke, VA, Cave Spring) needed three sets to get past Haley Andrews, winning her sixth match of the season, 2-6, 6-2, 6-0 at number one singles. In the number two slot, Corbin Leitch (Richmond, VA, Steward School) shut out Natalie Sutton, 6-0, 6-0. Guilford's singles victories came at number four and number six.

In doubles play, Jennifer Antoszyk (Charlotte, NC, University of Nebraska Independent Studies) and Lucy Webb (Glastonbury, CT, Glastonbury) teamed up as the number two tandem, needing a tie-breaker to earn the victory, 9-8 (7-5). Haley Goodes (Salem, VA, Glenvar ) and Brianna Carroll (Niagara Falls, NY, Nardin Academy)l fell in number three doubles 8-2.

Roanoke's next match is Monday at the Elizabeth Campus Courts against Emory & Henry. Start time is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
