The Maroons defeated the Wasps of Emory & Henry on Monday afternoon 9-0 at the Elizabeth Campus Courts. With the win, Roanoke improves to 7-2, 2-1 in the ODAC, while Emory & Henry falls to 5-8, 1-4 in ODAC play.

Number one singles had the most competitive match of the day, with Laura Dodson (Roanoke, VA, Cave Spring) needing a tiebreaker in the third set to emerge victorious. Dodson defeated Alyssa Wingate 4-6, 6-3, 10-8, to improve her individual record to 7-1.

The closest doubles match came in the number three slot as Lauren Marszal (Meriden, CT, Francis T. Maloney) and Brianna Carroll (Niagara Falls, NY, Nardin Academy) teamed up for the 8-6 win.

The Maroons are back in action on Wednesday as they travel to Lynchburg to take on Randolph College. The match is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
