Hollins took four of the six singles matchups, with the Maroons claiming the number three and number six contests. In the number three spot, Jennifer Antoszyk (Charlotte, NC, University of Nebraska Independent Studies) defeated Priscila Montoya, 7-5, 6-2, improving her individual record to 9-2 in singles play. Lauren Marszal (Meriden, CT, Francis T. Maloney) bested Trudy Siziba needing a tiebreaker in the third set to claim the victory. For the sophomore, it is her first three-set singles match since March 15th, 2011, when she defeated Gabbie Sacco of Virginia Wesleyan.
In doubles play Laura Dodson (Roanoke, VA, Cave Spring) and Corbin Leitch (Richmond, VA, Steward School) continued their successful pairing in the top slot, improving to 10-1. The Maroons' number one tandem earned the only doubles win for Roanoke, 8-3.
The Maroons will host Lynchburg on Thursday in their second home match of the season. The Hornets are 3-6 this season, and 1-4 in ODAC play. Start time is scheduled for 4:00 PM at the Elizabeth Campus Courts.
