SALEM - The Roanoke College women's tennis team swept Ferrum College 9-0 on Monday afternoon in non-conference action. The Maroons open the season with a record of 1-0, while the Panthers are now 1-1.

Jennifer Antozyk won at the #1 singles spot, defeating Kaitlin Swann, 6-0; 6-1. Briell Smith, Kristen McDowell and Haley Goodes each won their singles matches by the score of 6-0; 6-0. Kaitlyn Diskerud was victorious over Rachel Belcher at #4 singles, 6-0; 6-1. Alexandra Martin rounded things out for the Maroons at #6 singles, 6-1; 6-1.

Antoszyk and Smith took #1 singles over the team of Swann and Rebecca Harbeck 8-1, while McDowell and Brianna Carroll also won #2 singles with a score of 8-1. Goodes and Elli Fields finished off the sweep for the Maroons with an 8-2 victory at #3 doubles.

The Maroons return to action on Wednesday, February 20^th as they travel to Fredericksburg to take on the University of Mary Washington. That contest is scheduled for a 4:00 PM start.
