SALEM - The Roanoke women's tennis team defeated Southern Virginia 8-1 on Tuesday afternoon. The Maroons now have a record of 5-2, while the Knights are 3-4.

The Maroons swept the doubles portion of the match, as Jenny Antoszyk and Corbin Leitch defeated Ivy Kuroki and Ann Spencer 8-1 in #1 doubles. Briell Smith and Laura Dodson took #2 doubles, as they defeated Courtney McNeil and Devon Atley 8-0. The team of Kristen McDowell and Brie Carroll took the win in #3 doubles, defeating Mina Romito and Ann Kuroki 8-2.

In singles, the Maroons were just as successful. Antoszyk remained hot at #1 singles, beating Ivy Kurok 6-1; 6-0. Dodson defeated Atley in #3 singles by the same score. Leitch and Smith picked up singles victories at #2/#4, respectively, both by the score of 6-0; 6-1. Kaity Diskerud blanked McNiel 6-0; 6-0 in #5 singles.

The Maroons return to action on Wednesday, March 20^th as they face off against Washington and Lee on the road. That contest is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start. The Maroons are currently on a 3-0 streak of defeating ODAC teams, 9-0.
