LYNCHBURG - The #18 ranked Roanoke College women's tennis team defeated Randolph College, 8-1 on Friday afternoon. The Maroons now have a record of 9-3; 7-1 ODAC, while the WildCats are 6-4; 3-4 in the ODAC.

The Maroons swept the doubles competition, as Laura Dodson and Briell Smtih defeated Anna Culpepper and Dina Velazco, 8-0 in #1 doubles. In the #2 position, Corbin Leitch and Kaity Diskerud won a tight match against Patricia Verdezoto and Kaitlyn Kolster, 8-6. In #3 doubles, Kristin McDowell and Brianna Carroll won, 8-2 over Emmalyn Snead and Danielle Lewis.

In singles, Corbin Leitch won in #1 singles and Kristin McDowell won in #4 singles after their opponents retired early from the competition. Briell Smith defeated Culpepper in two sets, 6-0; 6-0. In the #5 position, Haley Goodes was victorious over Snead, 6-2; 6-0. Finally in #6 singles, Kaity Diskerud bested Lewis, 6-0; 6-1.

The Maroons return to action on Wednesday, April 10^th as they take on Lynchburg College on the road. That contest is scheduled for a 4:00 PM start.
