Women's Tennis Wins Sixth Straight, Defeats Guilford 7-2
SALEM - The Roanoke College women's tennis team, who is ranked #19 in the Atlantic South Region, picked up a 7-2 victory over Guilford College on Friday. The Maroons now have a record of 10-3; 8-1 ODAC, while the Quakers are now 5-7; 2-6 in ODAC play.

The Maroons top two doubles teams picked up wins in the contest to get the teams off to a 2-1 start. Laura Dodson and Briell Smith defeated Haley Andrews and allie Guy, 8-0 in the #1 position. Corbin Leitch and Kristen McDowell won #2 doubles over Kim Kleimeier and Natalie Sutton, 8-4.

In singles, Roanoke put on an outstanding performance. Leitch and Dodson won their singles matches by the score of 6-1; 6-1 at #1 and #2, respectively. Smith ran into a tough first set at #3 singles, defeating Kleimier 7-6 (7-1), 6-1. McDowell won over Guy 6-1; 6-3 at #4, while Haley Goodes bested Allison Hewitt 6-1; 6-3 at #5.

The #19 ranked Maroons return to action on Tuesday, April 16th as they face off against Bridgewater College at the Elizabeth Campus Courts. That match is scheduled for a 3:30 PM start.
