Women's Tennis Earns First Trip To ODAC Championship
VIRGINIA BEACH - For the first time in school history, the Roanoke College women's tennis team has reached the ODAC Championship Match, after defeating Hollins 5-3 in the ODAC Semifinals on Saturday. The Maroons advance to the Championship game with a record of 14-3.

The Maroons, who are currently ranked #19 in the Atlantic South Region, have had four 13 win seasons in school history. With the win today, Roanoke breaks a single season wins record with 14. The Maroons will move on to the school's first ODAC Championship on Sunday, April 28th as they go on to face Washington and Lee at 1:00 PM at Virginia Wesleyan.

The Maroons went 2-1 in doubles action, only falling at the #1 position. Corbin Leitch and Kristen McDowell defeated Sarah McCormick and Victoria Coffee in a tight, 8-6, match at #2 doubles. Haley Goodes and Kaitlyn Diskerud bested Tifany Hodges and Caitling Hoerr in #3 doubles, 8-2.

The Maroons three wins to secure a spot in the ODAC Championship came at the #4, #5, and #6 singles contests. McDowell defeated McCormick 6-0; 6-4. At #5, Goodes topped Hoerr 6-0; 6-1 to earn the fourth victory. Finally, Diskerud battled Hodges to three sets, picking up the win, 3-6; 6-3; 6-3.

The Maroons return to action on Sunday, April 28th as they take on Washington and Lee at Virginia Wesleyan. That match is scheduled for a 1:00 PM start.
