Women's Tennis Falls In Championship to Nationally Ranked Washington and Lee
VIRGINIA BEACH - The #19 regionally ranked Roanoke College women's tennis team fell in the 2013 ODAC Championships to #16 in the nation, Washington and Lee, 5-0 on Sunday afternoon. The Maroons finish their season with a record of 14-4, while the Generals advance with a mark of 18-5.

The Maroons 14 wins this season was a school-record, having won 13 matches on four separate occasions. Roanoke's match against Washington and Lee in the ODAC Championship was the team's first trip to the title match in school history.

The Maroons put up hard fought matches in doubles competition to start the afternoon. Laura Dodson and Briell Smith fell at the #1 position, 8-5 to Claire Cahill and Chelsea Mixson. Corban Leitch and Kristen McDowell dropped #2 doubles to Christina Doublas and Jen Hall, 8-3. Kaitlin Diskerud and Haley Goodes also fell in #3 doubles, 8-0

Roanoke's two singles losses came at #4 and #5 singles. McDowell fell to Douglas, 6-1; 6-0, while Goodes was bested by Sallie Griffin, 6-0; 6-1.
