Seven Women's Tennis Players and Fainter Honored in All-ODAC Awards
FOREST - Six individual Roanoke College women's tennis players as well as three doubles pairs were named to the 2013 All-ODAC Women's Tennis teams, announced Thursday. Head Coach Justin Fainter was also named ODAC Coach of the Year.

Sophomore Jennifer Antoszyk and senior Corbin Leitch were named First Team All-ODAC for their performances in 2013. Senior Laura Dodson and first years Briell Smith and Kristen McDowell were named All-ODAC Second Team. The doubles teams of Antoszyk and Leitch as well as Dodson and Smith also picked up second team honors. First year Kitlyn Diskerud and the pair of Brianna Carroll and McDowell were tabbed with the third team nod.

In just his second season at the helm of the Maroons, Justin Fainter earned the ODAC Coach of the Year award. He has led the Maroons to a 27-11 record, including a 17-4 mark in the ODAC. The Maroons were ranked throughout the season in the ITA Atlantic South Region, including a #19 ranking on April 11th.

The Maroons set single season records in women's tennis at Roanoke in both overall wins (14) and ODAC victories (10). Roanoke also reached its first ODAC Championship game in school history, defeating Hollins 5-3 to reach the title game. The Maroons also posted a 10-0 record at the Elizabeth Campus Courts, the home facility for Roanoke Tennis.

Sophomore Jennifer Antoszyk played #1 singles for the Maroons and was ranked 15th in the Atlantic South Region. Anotszyk was named Second Team All-ODAC in 2012. She posted a 7-1 mark at the #1 spot, including a 4-0 record in ODAC competition. She was also 1-0 against regionally ranked singles opponents. On February 25th, Antoszyk was named ODAC Player of the Week. Senior Corbin Leitch played both #1 and #2 singles for the Maroons in 2013. Leitch picks up her first First Team All-ODAC nod after being named Second Team in her first three seasons. She posted an overall record of 10-5 and was 9-2 in ODAC competition. Leitch and Antoszyk also were named All-ODAC second team in #1 Doubles. Together, the pair put up a 4-4 overall record and a 3-2 mark against ODAC opponents.

Also with Second Team All-ODAC honors were Laura Dodson, Briell Smith, and Kristen McDowell. Dodson, who has been named All-ODAC second team all four years at Roanoke, played in 16 matches for the Maroons and tallied a 9-3 record on the season. Splitting her time between #2 and #3 singles, Dodson was 8-2 against ODAC competitors. Briell Smith and Kristen McDowell both held 8-0 records against conference opponents. Smith was 11-3 overall, playing in spots 2-4 in 2013. She was named ODAC Player of the Week on April 22nd, with her wins that helped the Maroons reach the ODAC Semifinals. McDowell played in spots 3-6 for Roanoke, with an overall record of 10-3. She was a perfect 2-0 when playing #3 singles. Dodson and Smith were also named All-ODAC second team at #2 doubles. The Pair played the most matches together for the Maroons, playing in 14 total. They finished the season with a record of 9-5 and a 7-2 mark against the ODAC.

Kaitlyn Diskerud earned Third Team All-ODAC honors this year as well. Diskerud played in 15 matches for Roanoke and had a record of 9-4. She was also 6-2 in ODAC competition. The doubles pair of Brianna Carroll and McDowell were also named Third Team All-ODAC. The duo played together for nine matches and put together a 6-3 record. They also went 5-1 in ODAC play.
