Women's Tennis Sweeps Guilford, 9-0 In ODAC Opener
GREENSBORO, NC – The Roanoke College women's tennis team swept Guilford College on Friday afternoon, 9-0 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action.  The Maroons, who are ranked 19th in the Atlantic South region, have opened the season with a record of 2-0.
 
On the doubles side, Jennifer Antoszyk and Emily Henderson defeated Allison Hewett and Haley Andrews in #1 doubles, 8-2.  In #2 doubles, Emma Barker and Kristen McDowell bested Nora Prokesch and Fernanda Gonzales by the score of 8-4.  Reed Kegel and Kaitlyn Diskerud rounded out the doubles wins at the #3 spot, blanking Madison Giles and Forest Melcher, 8-0.
 
In singles, Antoszyk led the charge with a 6-1; 6-0 victory over Andrews at the #1 spot.  In #2 singles, Henderson topped Hewett, 6-2; 6-0.  Kegel defeated Giles in #3 singles 6-0; 6-1.  Barker picked up a win in #4 singles over Gonzales, 6-2; 6-2.  Haley Goodes went into a tiebreak in #5 singles, topping Melcher 6-3; 4-6; 7-1.  Kristen McDowell completed the sweep with a win over Prokesch 6-3; 6-4. 
 
The women move on to their Spring Break trip in Hilton Head, SC where they will play in six matches over the course of four days.  The first match is against Elizabethtown College on March 3rd at 9:00 AM.
