SALEM – The Roanoke College women's tennis team defeated Randolph College on Friday evening, 5-2. The Maroons, who are ranked 14^th in the Atlantic South Region, sit with a record of 9-1; 5-0 in the ODAC, while the WildCats are 8-4; 4-3 in ODAC play.

The WildCats jumped ahead of the Maroons in doubles play, winning at both #1 and #3 doubles. Roanoke's lone doubles victory came at the #2 spot, as Emily Henderson and Reed Kegel defeated Dina Velazco and Jenna Sweet, 8-5.

Roanoke however came through in singles by sweeping the first four matches. Jennifer Antoszyk defeated Pachi Verdezoto 7-5, 6-0 at the #1 singles position. At #2 singles, Briell Smith topped Alison Henry 6-4, 6-4. Henderson topped Velazco 6-3, 6-1 in the #3 spot. Roanoke's final win came at #4 singles, as Kegel defeated Heater Parra 6-3, 6-2.

The Maroons return to action on Saturday, April 5^th as they take on Randolph-Macon College in Ashland. That match is scheduled for a 12:00 PM start.
