SALEM – The Roanoke College women's tennis team defeated Lynchburg College 5-1 on Thursday afternoon at the Elizabeth Campus Courts.

The Maroons (11-1; 7-0 ODAC) remain undefeated in both Old Dominion Athletic Conference play, as well as against all NCAA Division III opponents they've played. Before their match against Lynchburg (2-9; 1-8 ODAC), it was announced that the Maroons are ranked #16 in the latest ITA Atlantic South Regional Poll.

Roanoke bested Lynchburg by just taking part in singles play. Emma Barker was Roanoke's #1 player on Thursday, defeating Melissa Drinkard, 6-1, 6-3. Roanoke's Haley Goodes topped Madison Dixon, 6-1, 6-2 in the #3 spot. Kaitlyn Diskerud played #4 singles for Roanoke winning her match over Carter Vaughn 6-4, 6-2. Alexandra Martin bested Kelsey Krisik in #5 singles, 6-4, 6-1. Lastly, Lauren Marszal won at #6 singles over Hailey Bettencourt 6-2, 6-1.

The Maroons return to action on April 13^th as they take on Shenandoah University on the road. That match is scheduled for a 1:00 PM.
