Women's Tennis Bests Shenandoah 8-1 on Sunday
WINCHESTER – The undefeated streak against NCAA Division III opponent stays alive as Roanoke defeated Shenandoah University, 8-1 on Sunday. The Maroons have a record of 13-1, 9-0 in the ODAC, while the Hornets are 10-5, 5-5 in ODAC play.

The Maroons, who are ranked #16 in the ITA Atlantic South Region, stay undefeated in both Division III play as well as ODAC action. With two conference matches remaining, Roanoke is just one win away from tying the school record for overall (14) and conference wins (10), which were both set in 2013.

Roanoke swept doubles action, winning all three matches by the score of 8-2. Roanoke continued its winning ways in singles matches as well. Briell Smith defeated Shannon Allin, 6-0; 6-2 at #2 singles. Emily Henderson topped Amy Rapp 6-2; 6-1 in #3 singles. At the #4 spot, Reed Kegel defeated Rachel Gross 6-0 in the first set, before Gross retired in the second. Emma Barker won at #5 over Amber Lake, 6-4; 6-0. Finally Haley Goodes, playing at #6 singles, bested Caitlin Tilton 6-0; 6-0.

Roanoke returns to action on Monday as they take on #20 nationally ranked Washington and Lee in ODAC action at the Elizabeth Campus Courts. That match is scheduled for a 3:00 PM start.
