Women's Tennis Sets Single Season Win Record In ODAC Quarterfinals
SALEM – In an Old Dominion Athletic Conference women's tennis tournament quarterfinal match, Roanoke College defeated Emory & Henry 7-2. The Maroons now have a record of 15-2 on the season.

Roanoke, who ranks 16th in the Atlantic South region in the latest ITA polls, has set a new record with today's win. The Maroons broke the single-season wins record for the women's tennis program, notching their 15th win this season. The previous record of 14 wins, was just set in 2013, where the Maroons advanced to the ODAC Championship match against Washington and Lee.

With today's win, the #2 seed Maroons advance to take on the #3 seed Randolph-Macon at Sweet Briar on April 26th. The last time the two teams met in 2014, on April 5th, Roanoke defeated Randolph-Macon 6-3.

The Yellow Jackets bested the Maroons in both the #1 singles and doubles positions today, but Roanoke won the remainder of the matches. The #2 doubles team of Emily Henderson and Reed Kegel defeated Meredith Yeary and Lauren Riner by the score of 8-1. In singles action, Briell Smith picked up a win at #2 singles, topping Alyssa Wingate, 6-1; 6-3. Henderson faced off against Yeary in #3 singles for a 6-0; 6-1 win. Reed Kegel bested Lauren Riner at the #4 spot, 6-2; 6-1.

The start time for the Randolph-Macon and Roanoke Semi-final round of the ODAC Tennis Tournament is 11:00 AM, and will be held at Sweet Briar College on April 26th.
