Roanoke Women's Tennis Advances To Second Consecutive ODAC Championship Match
SWEET BRIAR - The Roanoke College women's tennis team, who are ranked #16th in the Atlantic South Region, advanced to the ODAC Championship match after defeating #3 seed Randolph-Macon 5-2 on Saturday.

The #2 seed Maroons continue to set the Roanoke College women's tennis single season wins record, picking up their 16th win of 2014. With the win, the Maroons are advancing to the ODAC Championship Round for the second consecutive year.

Roanoke swept the doubles competition 3-0 to start the match. Jennifer Antoszyk and Briell Smith topped Angelina Sportelli and Toni McDonald 9-7 at #1 doubles. Emily Henderson and Reed Kegel won 8-5 to top Kelsie Grice and Olayemisi Ogunshina at the #2 doubles spot. In #3 doubles, Emma Barker and Kristen McDowell won 8-1 over Melissa Tomlin and Molly Jesseman.

In singles action, the Maroons just had two matches to win to seal the victory. Roanoke's Henderson topped RMC's McDonald 6-4; 7-5 to win at the #3 position. The final Roanoke win came from the #6 singles position as Haley Goodes defeated Caty-Betz Holcomb 6-0, 6-3.

The Maroons take on Washington & Lee in the ODAC Championship match for the second year in a row. The match is scheduled for a 10:00 AM start at Sweet Briar College.
