Maroons Fall in ODAC Championship to Nationally Ranked Washington and Lee
SWEET BRIAR - The #16 regionally ranked Roanoke College women's tennis team fell in the 2014 ODAC Championships to #20 in the nation, Washington and Lee, 5-0 on Sunday afternoon. The Maroons finish with a record of 16-3, while the Generals advance with a mark of 17-2.

The Maroons, who finished with 16 wins in the 2014 campaigns, set a new school record for wins in a season, breaking the previous mark of 14 set in 2013. Roanoke also advanced to the ODAC Championship match for the second time in school history, and the second consecutive year. The Maroons started out the season on an 8-0 mark, which was the best record to start a season in program history. It was also the best start by any Roanoke College head coach in their first year at the helm, a record now held by new coach Daniel Ragsdale.

The Generals picked up the first three wins of the day in doubles competition. The team of Emily Henderson and Reed Kegel fell at #2 doubles to Claire Cahill and Brooke Donnelly, 8-4. At the #3 spot, Emma Barker and Kristen McDowell won three games off of Allison Hupalo and Mary E. Shutley, falling 8-3. Just two matches were played in singles competition, with W&L winning at #4 and #6 singles to close out the victory.

The 2014 All-ODAC Tennis Teams will be announced later this week on http://www.odaconline.com.
