SALEM – The Roanoke College women's tennis team defeated Hollins University on Monday, 8-1.  With the win, the Maroons, who are ranked #18 in the ITA South Atlantic Region, are now 12-5, 7-1 in the ODAC, while Hollins is now 3-8, 1-4 in ODAC play.

The Maroons swept the doubles competition on Monday.  Briell Smith and Emily Henderson defeated Victoria Coffee and Tiffany Hodges, 8-3 in #1 doubles.  Alexandra Martin and Kaitlyn Diskerud topped Madeline Perry and Amelia Verkerk, 8-2 in the #2 doubles position.  Brianna Carroll and Kristen McDowell picked up a victory over Jhovanna Salmeron and Htet Myat San 8-5 in the #3 spot.

Roanoke won five of six singles matches as well.  Catherine Lee bested Tiffany Hodges 6-2, 6-1 in #2 singles.  At the #3 spot, Diskerud won over Perry 6-1, 6-1.  Lydia Dey picked up a win over Salmeron 6-2, 6-0.  Tracy Kile won at #5 singles over Verkerk 6-1, 6-0.  In #6 singles, Alexandra Martin was victorious over Htet Myat San, 6-3, 6-3.

The Maroons return to action on Saturday, April 11^th as they host Meredith College at the Elizabeth Campus Courts at 2:00 PM.
