VIRGINIA BEACH – The Roanoke College women's tennis team defeated Randolph-Macon in the 2015 ODAC Championship semifinal round, 5-2 to advance to the Championship round on Sunday.  The Maroons now have a 17-5 on the season.

With the win today, the Maroons set a new school record for wins in a season with 17.  This is the third consecutive season that the Maroons have accomplished this feat, and the second straight for second year head coach Daniel Ragsdale.  The Maroons are on a seven-match win streak entering the ODAC Championship match, defeating their opponents 41-8.  This is also the third straight ODAC Championship match appearance for the Maroons, which is also the third ODAC title match in program history.

The Maroons got off to a 2-1 lead after doubles play.  Emma Barker and Kristen McDowell defeated Melissa Tomlin and Molly Jesseman 8-3 at the #2 doubles position.  At #3 doubles, Roanoke's Kaitlyn Diskerud and Alexandra Martin topped Sarah Hinson and Hannah Trueblood 8-6.

The Maroons needed just three more wins to advance to the championship round.  McDowell defeated Trueblood in the #6 singles matchup, winning 6-0, 6-1.  Catherine Lee won 6-4, 6-0 over Sarah Henson in the #5 singles spot.  Kaitlyn Diskerud won in a tight 7-5, 6-0 #4 singles match as Roanoke won the necessary five matches to advance to the ODAC Championship round.
