Women's Tennis Falls in ODAC Championship Match to #4 Washington & Lee
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – The Roanoke College women's tennis team fell in the 2015 ODAC Championship Match to #4 ranked Washington & Lee, 5-0 on Sunday at Virginia Wesleyan.  The Maroons finish the 2015 season with a record of 17-6.
 
In the 2015 season, the Maroons set a new school record for wins in a season with 17 victories.  This is the third consecutive season that the Maroons have accomplished this feat, and the second straight for second year head coach Daniel Ragsdale.  This is was the third straight ODAC Championship match appearance for the Maroons, which is also the third ODAC title match in program history.  Each year, the Maroons fell to Washington & Lee, who was nationally ranked in each of the three years.
 
The Maroons took four games off of the Generals during the three doubles contests.  Emily Henderson and Briell Smith fell at #1 doubles to Sonja Meighan and Patricia Kirkland 8-2.  Emma Barker and Kristen McDowell were topped by Brooke Donnelly and Meghan Buell 8-0 at #2 doubles.  Kaitlyn Diskerud and Alexandra Martin lost 8-2 at #3 doubles to Kelsey Vella and Michelle Fleenor.
 
The Generals needed just two wins in singles action to finish the match.  Henderson fell at #1 singles, 6-0, 6-0 to Meighan.  Barker dropped the #3 singles contest to Buell 6-0, 6-0 as well, as the Maroons fell in the Championship match 5-0 to Washington & Lee.
