Roanoke Picked Second in ODAC Women's Tennis Poll
SALEM, Va. – The Roanoke College Women's Tennis team has been picked second in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference in 2016 ODAC Preseason Poll released by the league.

The Maroons garnered 87 points which was 13 points behind the top pick, Washington and Lee. Behind Roanoke by six points is Randolph Macon with Bridgewater and Randolph following behind.

Returning players for the Maroons include seniors Kaity Diskerud (12-3), Briell Smith (9-4), and Kristen McDowell. Returning juniors for the Maroons include Reed Kegel (8-5), Lydia Dey (7-1), Emma Barker (7-6), and Emily Henderson (7-8).  In addition, sophomores Catherin Lee and Tracy Kile are back in the mix for RC.

All-ODAC Second Team #2 doubles pair, Barker and McDowell (6-4), are returning as well as other doubles teams Henderson and Kegel (7-4) and Henderson and Smith (7-1) at #1 doubles.

Roanoke will travel to Newport News to open its season on Saturday, Feb. 13th at Noon. The Maroons will be playing in a tournament hosted by Christopher Newport and will be joined by Salisbury University and Methodist.
