The Lead: Roanoke Women's Tennis rallied from a 4-1 deficit and came back to claim a 5-4 win over Elizabethtown 5-4 in Hilton Head.
How it Happened:
- Emily Henderson and Colette Wibaut got things going for RC by topping Taylor Helsel and Lenea Riehl 8-3 in No. 1 doubles.
- E-Town then took No. 2 and No. 3 doubles before Madison McCall topped Wibaut in No. 2 singles and Meghan Chemidlin beat Emma Barker at No. 4 singles to give the Blue Jays a 4-1 lead.
- At No. 5 singles, Madeline Herring defeated Amber Burd 7-6 (7-5), 6-2, then Henderson finished off Helsel 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) in No. 1 singles.
- Lydia Dey scored a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles to knot the match at 4-4.
- At No.5, Catherine Lee held off Riehl in a first set tiebreaker 7-6 (3), before Riehl turned around for a 7-6 (9) tiebreaker win in the second. The two played deep into a 10-point super tiebreaker to decide the match. Riehl had all the momentum, leading 9-7 with two match points to close it out, but Lee won the next four points to claim the deciding tiebreaker, 11-9.
