Emily Henderson Named ODAC Tennis Player of the Week

Forest, Va. – Roanoke College's Emily Henderson has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week as the league announced its weekly awards on Monday.

Henderson helped RC to ODAC wins over Hollins and Virginia Wesleyan last week, winning a total of four matches. Against HU, Henderson teamed up with Colette Wibaut to beat Htet Myat San and Jhovanna Salmeron 8-0 at No. 1 doubles. Henderson then topped Salmeron 6-3, 6-3 in No. 1 singles to help RC to the 7-0 win.

At Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday, Henderson and Wibaut got RC a win at No. 1 doubles as they beat Jackie Lee and Kellen Phillips 8-4. Henderson then downed Lee 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 singles in leading the Maroons to an 8-1 win.

Roanoke finished the regular at VWC and will wait for the official seeding of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference tournament set to take place May 3-7.
