The Lead: Kerri Dalton finished eighth and Claire Brooks was 10th to lead the Maroons to a sixth-place team finish, while the men placed eighth in a Division I heavy field at the UNC Asheville XC Challenge.

Women's Results: (Full Results

  • Dalton finished the 5k race in a time of 19:10.04 to finish eighth in a field of 101 predominantly Division I runners.
  • Brooks was right behind Dalton with a time of 19:21 to earn 10th place overall, while Jenn Barthol was 37th with a time of 20:23 and Ellen Bauer placed 41st overall with a time of 20:35. 
  • The Maroons finished sixth in the 11 team field and finished ahead of Division I programs Longwood, Radford and Presbyterian. 

Men's Results: (Full Results) 

  • The Maroon men were paced by Howard Daniels who finished in 42nd place among the 111 male runners with a time 27:39. 
  • Kevin Waterman placed 57th overall, finishing the race in 27:59, while John Wiggins (28:17) was 63rd and Colin Brennan was 65th, clocking in at 28:22. 
  • RC was eighth in the 12 team field, topping Division I foes Campbell, Longwood and Presbyterian.
