The Lead: Roanoke held Bridgewater to a season low 41 points in its 63-41 victory over the Eagles on Wednesday evening.

How it Happened

  • Roanoke was led by John Caldwell with 21 points. Caleb Jordan and C.J. Miles each had nine points, while Eli Sumpter and John Fitchett each had eight. Fitchett also grabbed a team-high eight rebounds in the win.
  • Bridgewater got 11 points for Efe Balfour. The Eagles shot 27.8% for the game, making 15-of-54 shots from the field. BC's 41 points is a season low for the Eagles and the second lowest total for an ODAC team this season.
  • Three free-throws by Bridgewater's Kevin Saylor tied the game at 12-12 with 11:48 to go in the first-half.
  • Roanoke then opened up a double-digit lead over the course of the next eight minutes, using a 18-5 run that was capped by five straight points by Caldwell, making the score 30-17 with 3:37 to go in the half.
  • The Maroons led 32-22 at halftime and then widened its lead to 43-27 following a Josh Freund bucket with 15:30 to go in the game.
  • With the score 45-34, RC went on a 18-4 run to push its lead to 63-40 on a Jordan layup with under a minute to go in the game.
